Specializing in the Practice of Cardiology

Presently, Dr. Averill is the Medical President of the American Heart Association Torrance Division and he is past Chairman, Board of Directors, American Heart Association's Torrance Branch. He is a member of the American Heart Association's Council on Clinical Cardiology. He has been an invited speaker regarding cardiogenic shock (a complication of myocardial infarction) to physicians at Century City Hospital and to cardiologists at the University of Southern California and at the UCLA-Wadsworth VA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He has been invited to speak on the topic of myocardial infarction management, exercise testing, and cholesterol management to the Family Practice Department of Bay Shores Medical Group at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, and to the internal medicine residents at the University of Southern California.
